REPUBLIC OF STEAK – VICTORIA STREET

Been looking around for affordable and nice western food in the town area where we can celebrate our colleague birthday. The birthday girl had come out with a place at Victoria Street opposite Bras Basah complex. It is also near the national library. This is out first visit to the Republic of Steak. The location is easily located and the serving of the food is big. The most important thing is it is affordable and the ambience is cosy for gatherings and meets up session. The food here is definitely value for money and the staff here is very friendly too. One of the waitresses had strike small conversation with us too.

I heard from my friend that the chefs at the republic of steak is the ex chefs of Aston. A big plate of grill chicken and sausages with 2 side dishes cost only $10.80. You can make it a full set meal with a glass of drinks and soup of the day for only $3.90. The three of us order the same thing except we all had different side dishes. I will definitely come back again to try their pork chop ($9.80) that looks tempting and delicious too. A good place for some nice and affordable western food, however their desert selection is not that many choices. If I am not wrong they sell only brownie with vanilla ice cream only. But the yummy food compensates for the desert and I guess you will be too full for desert too. Furthermore the location is in town which is very convenient.

Another nice affordable western restuarant,

If you are happen to be at sunset way, the restaurant Buttercake and Cream also offer affordable western food but they have wide variety choices of desert. A very great place for some dessert and tea session. I do blog about this restaurant few months back and here is the link: http://yummycomfortfood.wordpress.com/2010/01/16/buttercakencream/
