Will Like to share the Gyoza Recipe with the readers. The recipe is from Oct Simply Her Magazine Oct Issue. Here it goes:
Make 30 Pieces:
200g minced pork, marinated with 1 tsp salt for 15 min
1 tbsp sake
1 tbsp soya sauce
A pinch of pepper
1/2 small piece giner, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chopped chinese chives
1 cup minced Chinese Cabbage, lighted salted
30 gyoza wrappers
1 tbsp seasame oil
For the Dipping Sauce
2 tbsp light soya sauce
2 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp chilli oil
Mix all the ingredients together
Freshly prepared ingredients
For the filling, mix the pork, sake, soya sauce and pepper in a bowl. Add the giner, garlic, chinese chives and cabbage and mix well.
I had bought the taiwan dumpling skin instead of the gyoza wrappers. Not sure if they are the same.
Place 1 tbsp of filling on a gyoza wrapper.
Bought the dumpling moulding from Daiso for $2.00 only.
Place the gyoza in a frying pan over medium heat. Add water, cover the pan and cook for 5 mins.
When the pan is dry and the gyoza is light shadow brown, uncover the pan. Add sesame oil and fry gyoza until brown and cripsy.
Serve with the dipping sauce.
Yummy Gyoza for our lunch! The recipe is easy to follow and the marinated minced meat is very tasty. The magazine for OCT issue had other japanese food recipes too. I shall try them out soon since i had bought Mirin and Sake. Mirin is one of the sauce for Teriyaki sauce.
