CHOCOLATE CHIPS AND CRANBERRY SCONES

Scone is a small British cake (cake if it contains sugars in the recipes). It originated from Scotland and very popular and well like by UK, Canada, Australia, US, Canada and Ireland. Scone is round in shape and I guess it is not that popular in Asia. Scone goes very well with Jam and of course a great snack for lazy afternoon tea time. It is my ex colleague Eddie that had introduced me to scone. I can remember the taste of the scone that he had baked for us. Very tasty and delicious. I really missed his scones. I had tried baking them over the long weekend and the ingredient needed is very simple and easily available. No eggs are needed for baking scones and I had always thought we need eggs for scones.

Got the recipe from joy of baking website. However, I had added additional teaspoon of unsweetened Hersely Cocoa powder and a teaspoon of cinnamon powder to try how it taste like. Here comes my scones:

It taste a bit like cake and soft cookies. Not as sweet as cakes as only 50 grams of sugar is added only. I guess scone is a healthier snack than cakes and it goes well with a cup of nice coffee. A very easy recipe to make and if you do not have a cake mixer do not worry. I do not use any cake mixer for the scone. You can easily mix them with your hands.

Go n try baking them..hehe.. :)

Feel free to share with me if you guys had any nice recipes for making scones.

Thanks in advance!
